Disney Genie & Genie+ Guide - What You Need To Know!
So, you’re heading on a Disney vacation. Congratulations! We know you’ll have a blast experiencing the magic of Disney and all the amazing things that the theme parks have in store.
Going on your first Disney trip — or your first Disney trip in a while — can come with its own set of obstacles. Disney is magical, but it can be overwhelming! Not to worry, though, because People Mover Travel has got you covered.
We’re here to answer all of your questions and share our tips and tricks to ensure you have the best trip ever. If you’re like us, you’re already daydreaming about all the incredible attractions you’re going to ride when you head to Disney. That brings us to this guide — our ultimate guide to using Disney’s Genie and Genie+ system.
what is the Disney Genie service?
The new Disney Genie service offers new planning tools and customized options designed to help guests make the most of their visit! This new service is built right into the My Disney Experience mobile app & offers new planning tools designed to help you make the most of your Disney visit!
You'll receive tailored recommendations throughout the day for dining, attractions & entertainment. The Disney Genie even offers a swap option if you'd like to switch up your itinerary throughout the day to help you make the most of your visit.
In addition to your customized itinerary, Disney Genie also offers a tip board that shows estimated wait times for your top attraction, dining & entertainment choices. You can also order food, make reservations or check into a virtual queue (for participating attractions).
Upgrading to Disney Genie+
For those guests who would like to upgrade their Disney Genie service to the Disney Genie+ service you do have the option of doing so for $15 plus applicable taxes per day (applicable to each person in your party).
Purchasing the Disney Genie+ service allows guests to continue utilizing the complimentary planning services available in the Disney Genie service but also lets guests bypass the regular standby line for their favourite attractions by booking the next available window for Lightning Lane experiences all day long.
This graphic shows what is included in the free Disney Genie Service as well as what add on options are available for purchase with both the Disney Genie+ option and selected Lightning Lane experiences.
You may make one selection at a time starting at 7:00 AM on the day of your visit & if your ticket includes the Park Hopper option you may select Lightning Lane experiences across multiple parks. This option has replaced the former Fastpass+ entrances previously found throughout Walt Disney World.
*NOTE: you can still wait in the standby line for all your favourite rides with no additional fees or cost, just as you always have!*
You also get access to special Disney themed lenses for your mobile device & access to Audio Tales which gives you fun facts & behind the scenes information about the parks.
It's important to note that some Lightning Lane experiences are not included in the Disney Genie+ purchase price & do require an additional a la carte cost.
